Merry Christmas....everyone!

It has become offensive to say Merry Christmas. Is that not truly astounding? Apparently Wal-Mart (in the US) is asking it’s meeter greeters to “guess” a persons religion and then say Merry Christmas or not. We have truly gone insane. If you are offended by a greeting that wishes you health and joy you need to go home. When you get there, close you doors and bolt your windows shut. Have your food delivered and to avoid contact with the poor unsuspecting delivery person, leave the money on your porch.

This issue has always made me wonder about the human condition. There was a time when saying Merry Christmas was simply that, you said Merry Christmas. If you were Jewish you said, thanks and kept on going. Or maybe you said, I’m a Jew. Regardless the sentiment was appreciated. I can’t imagine the person that twists this into something offensive. Get over yourself.

The acknowledgement of one cultures (or religions) holiday does not insult or belittle another. What does is making an issue out it. I say we all, regardless of our beliefs, wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I think we should sue Wal-Mart if they do not say Merry Christmas. How dare they not acknowledge this holiday and offer me greetings of health and happiness. Does that sound crazy? It should and lets face it, the opposite is too.

I remember the CBC wishing everyone happy holidays up until December 25th but on the Orthodox Christmas on January 6th, they wished the Ukrainians and others a Happy Christmas, so if you are Eastern Orthodox you can say Happy Christmas.

Here we go... Today, a Toronto judge ordered a Christmas tree out of a courthouse lobby!(http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=thestar/Layout/Article_Type1&c=Article&cid=1166094124161&call_pageid=968332188492&col=968793972154)

Next, they will want to change the name of the holiday... Happy Festivus, everyone!

What an idiot!
